Abstract

Among Wittgenstein’s late notebooks from 1947-1949, MS 168 attracts a certain interest. MS 168 is a puzzle among Wittgenstein’s Nachlass. In the literature the notebook has been discussed only briefly and sporadically. This article draws attention to its existence, content and place in the Nachlass, and discusses some of the responses that the notebook has elicited. The presentation concludes with a few reflections on its content.
